OUR TEAM

bak is a creative communications agency that believes in the power of connections with audience, with community and with our clients. Our founders started with a dream of developing an agency that could make a positive and measurable impact on people's lives AND be a hub of creative activity for designers, writers and filmmakers of all the talents.

Memet Ali Alabora

Creative Director

Creative Director, Memet, has spent over 25 years making things and figuring out what makes them grow. He started as a journalist and then actor and director in his native Turkey, where he created the contemporary performance venue garajistanbul and founded Turkey's first Actors' Union. His groundbreaking work 'Mi Minör' led to his exile and subsequent relocation to the UK.

In the UK, Memet built a career in film and television before founding bak in 2018 and co-founding a tech startup in 2020. As the Creative Director of bak, Memet has developed the agency's growth methodology and spearheaded campaigns and projects that have mobilised 15,000 marchers for Indy (AUOB), increased vote share from 1% to 4.7% (Wales Green Party), built a global community for the International Association of Community Developers and energised the family of football lovers in the UK and Europe with Wal Goch Festival amongst many others. A talented basketball player, Memet Ali graced the courts first in Galatasaray, then Beşiktaş and ENKA.

David J. Evans

Creative Producer

David Evans is a campaign strategist and creative with a track record of delivering high-impact communications for organisations working at the intersection of social change, culture, and public life. At bak, he has led campaigns and films for clients including the The Greens, Welsh Refugee Council, Ashoka, and Resource Alliance—translating complex issues into work that reaches the audience.

His strength is turning strategy into something people really engage with: sharp narratives, disciplined production, and campaigns built to move audiences, not just to impress stakeholders.

Alongside this, David brings over a decade of BAFTA winning experience in film and broadcast. That background shows in his command of narrative: tight storytelling, strong visual judgement, and an instinct for what holds the audience’s attention. Content and impact working together to build your campaign.

Inquisitive, curious and creative. Nature is his thing and and when he’s not hard at work with bak he’s producing short documentaries about his passion. “I love editing, stitching together stories and meaning from individual frames into a satisfying whole. Telling stories through film is absolutely the best way to mobilize viewers, raise awareness, and understand more about the world and its peoples.”
