Communication Strategy

Year

2025

Once upon a time the Toker family dreamed of owning a French vineyard and of making their own wines. But they didn’t stop with just dreaming about it and a couple of years ago went ahead and bought Chateau Lacarel in the South West of France.

But with no experience, no existing sales base or social media following, they called bak to help out with a brand strategy, messaging and social media growth plan. The Tokers have been following the plan to the letter and making massive strides in establishing themselves as players in the French wine market.

bak supported the business with a fast working strategy targeting their ideal audience, positioning the brand and hitting some impressive figures within weeks of launch. We think the results speak for themselves with an ongoing delivery that we’ll update you with as the business forges ahead.

In only a few weeks

  • Social Media Reach doubled: 9.3K, +107.5%

  • Views were up +41.6% to 36.7K

  • Engagement nearly doubled: +90.6% to 3.5K

  • 64% of views now come from non-followers, up +101.5% — the algorithm is pushing this account to new people, the clearest sign a content strategy is working

  • All this from a relatively small base of followers as proof the plan drives real reach without needing to  scale up first.

Outperforming for its size

  • Benchmark for accounts this size: 5–6% engagement is considered strong; platform average is 0.5%

  • Lacarel is performing well above the norm for a brand-new account. Evidence the strategy, not just the product, is doing the work

Real-world momentum building

  • Exhibiting at Salon des Vignerons Indépendants, Clermont-Ferrand, 16–18 October — a national stage, direct-to-public sales

  • A Saint-Émilion wine bar has tasted and wants to stock the wines — first sign of trade recognition

  • Client reports two competition medals (gold, rosé; silver, sparkling rosé) from a respected blind-tasting competition — getting formal confirmation to use as a named credential
